Billy White AcreComposer/Creative Director
A native of Toronto, Canada, Billy received a choral scholarship at age ten from Sir David Wilcox to attend St. Michael's College in England where he also studied cello and piano. Returning to Canada in his teens and bolting from his classical training, White Acre immersed himself in 20th Century gods: Charlie Parker, Jimi Hendrix, Joni Mitchell, Egberto Gismonti, Betty Carter, and The Beatles. Moving to Los Angeles in the late 80's, Billy established himself in the local club scene winning numerous guitar and songwriting competitions and going on to produce records for rock, pop, and alternative artists in addition to his own projects. His most recent producer venture, for Josh Canova's "Adios", is a haunting compilation of laid back (lost) love songs in the Alt-Country vein. Since the late 90's, White Acre has mostly kept out of trouble composing for movies, documentaries and advertising. Some of his film credits include "Zombie Strippers" (Sony Pictures), "Love & Sex" (Lions Gate Films), and "Cookers" for which he earned the Best Film Score award at the Milan Int'l Film Festival. In 2009, he and collaborator, John Nooney, composed the theme and score for Discovery's shipwreck series, "Treasure Quest." White Acre's music is featured in a growing list of reality shows including The History Channel's new hit "Pawn Stars." |

Composer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Billy White Acre, divides his time between scoring films, TV shows, commercials, and acquiring unusual instruments to pepper his music brews. (A recent addition: a 1973 Yamaha DK40.) Skilled in many styles ranging from orchestral to pop, White Acre will shift gears from the poetic singer/songwriter to the punk-possessed techno junkie as quickly as a hat change.
